Stay Inside

When the weather gets so cold, it can be very hard on your body. Do not try to leave the vehicle to find help. Call the emergency services or a towing company, depending on your situation. Put your hazard lights on to warn other drivers where you are. Wait for help to arrive. If you are stuck in a very snowy place, you should check to see if your exhaust pipe is exposed. Carbon monoxide can build up if it is clogged with snow.

Keep Warm

If you’re stuck in the snow, if may be a while before you get some help. Try to preserve body warmth as much as you can. This is the time of year to have a blanket in your car, in case of these types of situations. If you think it might be a long time, you should try to conserve your vehicle’s fuel by only warming the vehicle for ten to fifteen minutes per hour. After that, just hang tight and help will be there shortly.
