Equipped with a 19.2-gallon fuel tank, the conventional version of the 2016 Highlander could technically cover up to 480 miles, but we do not recommend running your Toyota down to empty. With the more ideal utilization of 3/4 of a tank, the 2016 Highlander can still cover up to 360 miles. This means that starting in Cranberry Township, the 2016 Highlander can take you to Richmond (VA), Philadelphia, Scranton, Syracuse (NY), Detroit, or Cincinnati!

Hybrid Model is Available With a Similar Distance Capability

The 2016 Toyota Highlander is available with a hybrid variation and is equipped with a 280 net horsepower hybrid 3.5L V6 DOHC with EV and ECO Modes. It can tow up to 3500 pounds and attain a fuel economy of 27 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. Because it is outfitted with a 17.2-gallon fuel tank, the 2016 Highlander Hybrid is able to cover a maximum mileage of 481.6 miles. At 3/4 of a tank, the hybrid SUV can go 361.2 miles and get you to the same cities as the conventional variation.
