Inspection

Make sure your vehicle is ready to drive long distances before you start your road trip. Get your vehicle repaired or seen by a mechanic if you hear noises from your vehicle. Make sure that your tires are filled to the proper amount of air and have them rotated if you haven’t done so in the past six months.

Scheduling

Taking turns while drive is a great way to help your road trip go smoothly. Don’t drive for more than four hours. This will help you rest from driving to make it a safer journey. You should also schedule your stops to make time for pit stops, switching drivers, and going on excursions along the way.

Staying Alert

When you are driving long distances, it can be difficult to stay awake. Make sure that you are not driving tired. Turn on loud music or the air conditioning to keep yourself awake and alert. Having a snack will also help keep you awake and alert.
