The Subaru Legacy is stylistically boring, especially when put alongside a Camry, but if we were to put looks aside for a moment and compare these two models to see which one has the features that you need, what would the results be? We try to discover just that with our 2020 Toyota Camry vs 2020 Subaru Legacy comparison. We will look at performance, efficiency, features and more to uncover the ideal sedan.

Though the Camry and Legacy share a lot of features including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, one category where they are miles apart is in the performance department. Just to start out with, the Camry provides up to 203 horsepower out of its four-cylinder engine. The Subaru falls over 20 horsepower short of that. Trust us, that’s a difference you will notice.
Impressively, the Toyota Camry manages to maintain much better efficiency numbers despite putting more power to the wheels. Everyone wants to fill up less often, and Toyota believes in helping you do that.
While we are still on the topic of engines, the Camry goes above and beyond the four-cylinder engine with an available V6. The Legacy, by contrast, only offers a four-cylinder engine even on its highest trim level. At Toyota, they simply believe they can do better.
Doing better is why the Camry is offered with a sport-tuned TRD trim level for the first time. Toyota knows you will likely never take your Camry out on the track, but it’s good to know that if you really wanted to track this car you could.
