Off-road features of the new RAV4 TRD Off-Road

It says off-road right in the name, so it only stands to reason that the RAV4 TRD Off-Road would have some impressive off-road features. This model builds on the already capable Adventure trim with standard all-wheel drive and an 8.6-inch ground clearance.

The wheels are exclusive to this model with a lightweight 18-inch flow-formed TRD design that comes in a stunning matte-black. Mounted on these wheels you get Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail all-terrain tires. These tires aren’t normal off-the-shelf options. Falken designed them to meet the rugged requirements of the TRD line.

The suspension is just as important as the tires and wheels it rides on. Here, you get a TRD-engineered suspension that was designed to enhance body control with off-road coil springs and twin-tube shocks that have been re-valved to maximize control.

Appearance changes for the 2020 RAV4 TRD Off-Road

The RAV4 TRD Off-Road trim is available in a wide range of colors. However, one option is exclusive just to this model. It’s a two-tone option with Magnetic Gray on the bottom and Ice Edge on the roof. Like the two other two-tone options available on this trim, it adds $500 to the MSRP.

The interior is set off by beautiful red stitching to properly accent the rich look and feel of the black SofTex seating. Of course, the TRD logo is also stitched right into the headrests. You’re never going to forget you are riding in a TRD model.

On the outside, the TRD Off-Road trim takes many styling cues from the Adventure trim but dials them up with dark gray front and rear fascias. Of course, just like on the inside, you get to sport TRD badging on back, and all the badging is blacked out.
