For this truck, properly equipped means the SR trim with a double cab and the 5.7-liter V8 with a standard bed and a 4×2 drive configuration. When it comes to the Tacoma, you get to enjoy up to 6,800 pounds of maximum towing when properly equipped. The lowest available max towing on any configuration of the Tacoma is 3,500 pounds and that’s with the 4-cylinder engine.
