There are two engines available for the 2021 Toyota Avalon. The first is a 2.5-liter Dynamic Force four-cylinder DOHC 16-valve D-4S Direct Injection engine with Dual VVT-i and ECO, Normal, and Sport drive modes. This engine delivers up to 205 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque and has a compression ratio of 13.0:1. The second engine is a 3.5-liter V6 DOHC 24-valve D-4S Dual Injection engine with VVT-iW and VVT-i. This engine produces up to 301 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque and has a compression ratio of 11.8:1.

Both engines are paired with a Direct Shift-8AT 8-speed Electronically Controlled automatic Transmission with intelligence with Sequential Shiftmatic™ Mode. The 2.5L engine is paired with all-wheel-drive while the 3.5L engine is paired with front-wheel-drive. All trim levels are equipped with all-season tires to provide the best traction.
