1. White While Bookstore. This family-owned bookstore offers a wide selection of books from contemporary to philosophy to nonfiction. White Whale Bookstore hosts regular events (currently happening online) that focus on author readings, writing workshops, poetry nights, children’s story time, and much more. You can order some of your books online through their website and select the option for pick-up. If you shop in-person, you must wear a mask and only five people are allowed in the store at a time.
2. Caliban Book Shop. This Pittsburgh bookstore is open seven days a week from 12 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. If you have a limited schedule, Caliban Book Shop offers browsing appointments so you can ensure a private browsing. Due to COVID-19, they are currently offering curbside pickup and delivery of new books. Only six customers are allowed in the store at a time, however, they have shelves outside for you to browse while you wait for your turn to shop.
3. Amazing Books and Records. If you are a fan of reading and music, then this is the bookstore for you! Amazing Books and Records will give you a free book or record with every three that you purchase from them. If you have some old books or records that you would like to get rid of, this bookstore also buys used books and vinyl records from their customers. Amazing Books and Records also offers the option to shop for books online.
